A Day in Paradise: Floating on Calatagan's Crystal Clear Waters
Imagine waking up to a breathtaking ocean view without leaving your bed. Sounds like a dream, right? Well, it's not! Calatagan, Batangas offers a unique escape that will make you feel like you're living in a postcard. Picture yourself drifting on a private floating cottage, surrounded by crystal-clear waters teeming with marine life. This is no ordinary beach getaway; it's a floating paradise!
We recently embarked on an unforgettable day tour that promised a one-of-a-kind experience, and it definitely delivered. Our day began as we boarded a boat to our floating cottage, a quaint and cozy abode perched on the calm waters. The excitement was palpable as we stepped onto the cottage, eager to explore our floating home for the day.
Our Floating Home Sweet Home
The experience was fun, the floating cottage was very relaxing and I even had a nap during lunch time while other members were preparing and cooking the food. The floating cottage is big and is perfect for family or groups. The floating cottage we had has a swing and a second floor. However, we saw many different styles as well.
Dive into a Living Aquarium
One of the highlights was undoubtedly the opportunity to snorkel and dive right from our cottage. The underwater world was a kaleidoscope of colors, with vibrant corals and an array of fascinating marine creatures. It was like swimming in a giant aquarium! For those who prefer to relax, the cottage's second floor offered a panoramic view of the surrounding waters, perfect for soaking up the sun and enjoying the gentle sway of the waves.
Our day tour also included an island-hopping adventure, taking us to four different locations, each with its own unique charm. The crystal-clear waters were inviting, and we couldn't resist taking a dip. For the thrill-seekers, water activities like banana boat rides, jet skiing, and UFO rides were available, adding an extra dose of fun to our day.
Island Hopping Fun in the Sun
We did not check those out because we were fully packed and well ready but we were able to see some such as snacks, soft drinks, alcoholic drinks, water bottles, sea urchins, even fruits were available and many more. But it really depends if the small boats were to pass near your cottage because they go from cottage to cottage.
While our floating cottage experience was truly magical, there are a few things to consider. The cottage doesn't have a bathroom, so it's best to plan accordingly. Additionally, bathroom availability might be limited during the island-hopping portion of the tour due to the number of people.
Tips for a Perfect Floating Getaway
My suggestion is to get there early as possible as there are many people visiting the same place and for you to be able to choose your own parking spot (where you can choose to park under a shaded area) and I also suggest to end the tour earlier than planned to avoid long queues on comfort rooms. Don't forget to have fun!
Our day in Calatagan was an absolute dream come true. Floating on a private cottage, exploring the underwater world, and island hopping were experiences we won't forget.
